Speaker Alert

Speaker Alert is a free speech timing application for all occasions, be it for work presentation, club meetings, stand up comedy spots or even that all important wedding speech.

You get alerts at 4 times during your speech. Green for your minimum time, Amber for when you’re coming to the end, Red for when you need to be finishing up and a flashing alert if you really should be off stage.

Just set the times for your speech, hit Start and put your device down in front of you for clear and bright visual alerts, or pop it in your pocket for vibrating alerts.

If you don’t want the time distracting you, just turn it off in the iOS Settings pages.

I am a public speaker and appreciate the simplicity of the SA. My suggestion is if you could allow us the option to choose either “lights”, “vibrate” or “both”. The vibrator can be annoying a distracting when you are wanting to set your iPhone on the lectern so you can see the light and then the vibrator shakes the lectern and everyone wonders what that vibrating noise is. Also, could you please allow us the option to silence the alarms without stopping the timer. The only way to stop the alert is to press stop, which then throws your overall timer off and you don’t get an accurate time of your speech.

Nice job out of the gate, but would very much appreciate the addition of these suggestions for those of us who are serious about public speaking and need a little more control over how the app works.

Thanks again and God bless… Happy New Year!

Thanks for the comments, Rob. Really appreciate the suggestions and it’s great to know people are trying SA :)

Regarding turning off the vibrate option, you can disable vibrating alerts from the iOS Settings page. If this does what you need, perhaps I could add some text to the main page to point you in the right direction, or have a more easily accessible settings page.
As for silencing alarms while the app is running, do you mean disabling vibration mid-speech, or turning off the audio alerts when the app is in the background?

      Happy New Year!
